On Thursday and Friday the 8th and 9th of October, we attended the Celebrating Story conference at the beautiful Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne.
This was the first conference if its kind in the southern hemisphere. It was made possible thanks to the passion and energy of Andrew Rixon of Babel Fish Group …. with a little help from his friends, and sponsorship from Melbourne Playback Theatre, Chambers Winery and Rio Tinto.
Over 100 participants attended from near and far. As well as many Melbournites, there were folk from Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra , New Zealand – and as far away as Seattle, Washington, USA!
A wonderful smorgasbord of workshops …. and food! … sustained us all for the two days. We’re sure most of those who attended are, like ourselves, looking forward to the next Celebrating Story event in 2010!
