Here is a wonderful TED presentation from Rita Pearson in the US, who has been a teacher for 40 years.
In her talk, Rita sends out a rousing call to all educators to believe wholeheartedly in their students and build a strong, positive and meaningful relationship with each and every one of them.
We could not agree more that, as Rita says, “Kids don’t learn from people they don’t like” and that “teaching and learning should bring joy“.
We are sure you’ll find it worth spending eight minutes of your time to watch this!
Every child deserves a champion — an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.
Both affirming and inspiring, it’s a great reminder to all of us who are educators and trainers – and not only for those of us who work with young people!
After all, many grown ups need a champion as well! :)
