The Wisdom of Children

Small girl in orange shirtThere is much we can learn from children. The saying ‘out of the mouths of babes‘ may be very cliché, but like many clichés it holds a great deal of truth.

Apparently the comments below were all answers given by children, aged between 4 and 8, who were asked “What is love?”

We know they’ve been doing the rounds on the internet for some years now – but we thought they were worth sharing again. :)

If you’ve seen them before, we hope you’ll be able to enjoy them all over again. And if you haven’t, we hope they’ll make you smile. You may also be surprised by their wisdom and perceptiveness! :)

And finally …

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, ‘Nothing, I just helped him cry’.
