Strategic Planning
Most organisations need to develop a strategic plan that documents vision, mission, key objectives, goals, performance targets and strategies for reaching them.
In many organisations this is a complex, multi-layered and time-consuming process, requiring considerable commitment of time and effort from managers and staff.
Sometimes this can be a difficult and frustrating process.
What’s more, after all that time and effort, sometimes the process becomes little more than an academic exercise.
A glossy, beautifully presented strategic plan gathers dust on office shelves all over the organisation. At least until the next review date comes along!
Let us help you shake off the dust and turn your strategic plan into a document that:
- Assists you to build on existing strengths of your organisation and your people
- Is proactive not reactive to internal and external drivers of your business or services
- Maximises options for achieving your goals and targets
- Translates into practical action in the workplace – a “living, breathing” document supporting the work you do
- Effectively supports improvement and success for your organisation
- “Walks the talk” of your organisation’s vision and mission
- Is inspiring and clear, so all your people understand, support and work with it effectively
If your organisation does not currently have a Strategic Plan, or you are in the process of writing a new one, we can also help you develop it.
When creating a strategic plan, our clients can have a first draft completed by the end of a one-day seminar.
The planning process we use is based on our AQ-KQ® Framework. It incorporates a focus on any or all of the eight ‘lenses’, depending on your particular needs and priorities and the length of the program or project.
Acknowledgement: In addition to the principles and practice of Appreciative Inquiry, the strategic planning process we use also draws on the Accelerated Planning Technique (APT) developed by Andrew Smith, from New Zealand.
