Appreciative Inquiry and the Tao

RedYinYangSmallI found this quote below by Lao-Tzu from the Tao Te-Ching on my facebook page today (shared by Katri Kytöpuu)  and it very much resonated with me because I’m both a Tai Chi and Appreciative Inquiry practitioner.

I have just three things to teach:

simplicity, patience and compassion

These three are your greatest treasures.

Simple in actions and in thoughts, you return to the source of being.

Patience with both friends and enemies, you accord with the way things are.

Compassion to yourself, you reconcile all beings in the world.

These three things: simplicity – patience – compassion – are what we try to apply in our work as facilitators and trainers. And they certainly apply to any meaningful conversation between two human beings.
